Dr. Ann Freedman, DMD
Dr. Ann Freedman has always enjoyed working with children
and knew early on that making a difference in childhood smiles
was the thing for her. After earning her undergraduate degree
in child development from Cornell University, she earned her
D.M.D. from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. At Harvard
she won awards in Pediatric Dentistry and Oral Medicine. Dr.
Freedman completed her pediatric dental residency at The University
of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
In 1981, she moved to South Florida first to work as Chief
of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial
Hospital and then to start a new practice in Boca Raton.
Dr. Freedman strives to treat children in a non-threatening,
friendly and warm environment. She firmly believes that exceptional
early dental care will lead to a lifetime of good dental health.
When not busy chairside, Dr. Freedman spends time with her
husband, Bob Spoont, and their four children. She also stays
active attending lectures, singing in her choir at temple,
and interviewing candidates for Cornell and Harvard Universities.

Dr. Arthur Kapit, DDS, MScD
Dr. Arthur L. Kapit received his dental degree from
the Medical College of Virginia and his Master's degree in orthodontics
from Boston University. He is a diplomate of the American Board
of Orthodontics, the only orthodontic specialty board recognized
by the American Dental Association and the American Association
of Orthodontists. Besides private practice he is an adjunct professor
in the postgraduate department of orthodontics at Nova Southeastern
University College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kapit believes that all
patients should be treated by the orthodontist. He places
all orthodontic braces and cements all
bands. He sees each and every patient on each and every appointment.
Since you are paying for his services you should get them. The
assistants also work on patients, but it is limited to those procedures
that are under his supervision and at his direction. They never
cement bands or brackets. There is a difference in the quality
of care from one health care provider to another. Diagnosis is
the cornerstone for good treatment. Without knowing what the
problem is there is no way to improve it. At the consultation
appointment
it will become evident how much time is spent to analyze the
diagnostic information. Once the problem is analyzed the
treatment can then
be started. In the end what all of us strive for is an esthetic,
healthy, and stable result.
Dr. Kapit participates in certain insurance
plans. Please speak to his insurance coordinator for specific
insurance details. Weekday
and limited Saturday appointments are available.
Dr. Kapit also
does adult orthodontics and can help with some TMJ problems.
Invisible braces are available for selective problems.
It is important to have good communication between the dentist
and the orthodontist. Working together as a team Dr. Kapit will
be able to effectively and conveniently participate in all phases
of both your dental and orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Jacqueline Galvez, DDS
Dr. Galvez began her studies in Bogota, Colombia, where she earned
her dental degree from the Colegio Odontologico Colombiano. In
1986 she went to Boston to study Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts University,
graduating in 1988. She is a Board Diplomate from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She continued her studies with continuing education
classes in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. She taught and
lectured at Nova Southeasten University, at the Department of Pediatric
Dentistry (Post-graduate and Pre-graduate). Her residents honored
her with the "Faculty Member Award of Excellence Postgraduate".
At Nova she coordinated the Post-graduate clinic and was in charge
of the Operating Room where she taught her residents in different
hospitals how to perform dental treatment in children under general
anesthesia.
Dr. Galvez enjoys teaching parents and children
the importance of taking care of their teeth since
this is an important part of their personal appearance.
As well, this gives the child and the parent a basic
lesson about visiting the dentist twice a
year for checkups, and that a visit to the dentist
should always be a fun activity.
In her free time, Dr. Galvez enjoys reading, cross-stitching
and spending time with her husband and their two
children.
